Middle School PE

The middle school physical education students recently began their physical fitness unit. All students will be tested on a variety of physical fitness components such as flexibility, upper body strength, cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance and abdominal strength/ endurance. Each student will be assessed on the mile run, sit ups, push ups, sit and reach and body mass index.  Other tests each student will perform are the shuttle run (speed, quickness and agility), the standing long jump, pull-ups (upper body strength), the 50-yard dash (quickness) and the 600-yard run. Students will also be working toward a “Fab 5” blue shirt, where very high levels of fitness must be achieved to win the award.
