Coal Black Exotics

Coal Black Exotics educated 7th grade English language arts students on an assortment of snakes.  Students first read the nonfiction story “Rattlesnake Hunt”.  The overall theme of the story is “Learning more about something, will help you fear it less.”  Many students who were afraid of snakes prior to this exhibition were holding a snake by the end.  During the presentation, students engaged in learning about an array of snakes and then were able to apply that knowledge to other snakes they were shown.
