Mr. Hitchcock named VFW Educator of the Year

On Wednesday, November 15, CCMS held our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly.  Post Commander Charlie Brown gave a presentation on World War I and CCPD Officer Kent Jones displayed and talked about some of his WW1 era weapons.  At the ceremony, Jim Hitchcock was presented the Educator of the Year Award from the Coal City VFW St. Juvin Post 136.  Jim has also been nominated for the State of IL VFW Educator of the Year.  We want to thank Jim for all of his work in working with the VFW and bringing them into CCMS for Veterans Day.  It was a very positive ceremony and the students did an outstanding job of being respectful at the assembly.
